Fueling a New Workday!

Beginning June 2026, Âé¶¹´«Ã½Ó³»­ will start using Workday for HR and Finance tasks like time tracking, payroll, expenses, recruiting and purchasing.  With this new, unified system, Âé¶¹´«Ã½Ó³»­ is taking a major step forward in modernizing operations to better serve our campus community.

About the Âé¶¹´«Ã½Ó³»­ Workday Project
The Âé¶¹´«Ã½Ó³»­ Workday Project will reach nearly every corner of campus life - enhancing how we work, communicate, and deliver services. Our project team consists of more than 75 Âé¶¹´«Ã½Ó³»­ employees from HR, Finance and IT roles partnering with subject matter experts from across campus.
 

Our Âé¶¹´«Ã½Ó³»­ Workday Project Vision Statement

Âé¶¹´«Ã½Ó³»­'s Workday initiative will increase operational effectiveness and efficiencies, realizing present needs and achieving strategic growth for the greater campus community.

What is Workday?

Workday is a modern, cloud-based system that unifies human resources, financial management, and student information into a single, integrated platform. It combines a wide range of functionality across HCM (Human Capital Management), finance, and student services - all in one place.

As a self-service tool, Workday gives faculty, staff, and students easy, real-time access to the information they need. It streamlines processes, reduces manual work, and supports faster, more strategic decision-making. By adopting Workday, Âé¶¹´«Ã½Ó³»­ will enhance operational efficiency and elevate how we serve our campus community.

Âé¶¹´«Ã½Ó³»­ Workday Project Timeline

Phase 0: Planning | January - May 2025 (Complete)

During Phase Zero, Âé¶¹´«Ã½Ó³»­ leaders and stakeholders met with Avaap consultants (Âé¶¹´«Ã½Ó³»­â€™s Workday implementation partner) to develop our strategic plan for the Workday Project including, the project vision, goals and objectives.

Phase 1: Human Capital Management & Financial Management | May 2025 - June 2026

During Phase One, the Âé¶¹´«Ã½Ó³»­ Workday Project team configures Workday to meet the Human Capital and Financial Management needs of Âé¶¹´«Ã½Ó³»­. In June 2026, at the completion of this phase, Workday will provide Âé¶¹´«Ã½Ó³»­ employees with a unified platform for HR-related and core financial processes including recruiting, onboarding, performance management, time tracking and payroll, purchasing, accounts payable/receivable, budgeting, expenses and more.
Phase 1 Timeline
  • Planning and Design: April - July 2025
    • Setting up Workday to meet the needs of Âé¶¹´«Ã½Ó³»­
  • Configuration: July - November 2025
    • The project team configures and tests system sections.
    • Initial previews of Âé¶¹´«Ã½Ó³»­ Workday start to take shape.
  • Testing: December - March 2026
    • The project team refines Workday with help from Âé¶¹´«Ã½Ó³»­ Human Resource and Finance specialists who help test the system.
  • Training and Readiness: March – May 2026
    • Training and other resources will help Âé¶¹´«Ã½Ó³»­ employees navigate and prepare for Workday.
  • Go-Live: June 2026
    • Âé¶¹´«Ã½Ó³»­ Workday is ready to use! Support will be available for all employees as they use the new system.

Phase 2 | Student Information Services and Reporting | July 2026 - July 2027

In Phase Two, the Âé¶¹´«Ã½Ó³»­ Workday Project will shift focus to student systems. More information about this phase will be provided in early 2026.
